Getting a shelter pet ready for adoption has many expenses. All pets have to be altered and vaccinated. Our pets are also microchipped so they can find their way home if ever lost after being adopted. BCAS needs your help with these expenses so we can get these animals ready for adoption faster. 99% of the animals that find a haven at BCAS are unaltered and not ready to go back out for adoption without medical care. They need the support from animal lovers like you, to get them on their journey of finding a forever home.
In a few easy steps you can change the life of a shelter pet. BCAS will use the funds donated for that individual animal to provide medical care specific for that animal to get them adoption ready, or provide continued care during their stay at Blackford County Animal Shelter.

Neglect and/or abuse will rip your heart out every single time. Our staff and volunteers witness heartbreaking situations often and there is no getting use to it, nothing to prepare you for it. It also doesn't matter how many times you have seen it. Mary is a victim of neglect. Mary needs all of our help. Mary needs grooming, feedings and some much needed tender loving care. Mary is about to start a new chapter in her life. We need you to help her with that. She is looking for sponsors with big hearts to get her that new start she deserves.
